#survivor

This is my favorite hash-tag. It’s either I see Survivor (the reality show) or inspiring stories, quotes, and pictures of cancer survivors, rape victims, or normal individuals facing life’s struggles but choosing to fight and not give up.

SURVIVOR San Juan del Sur

It is exactly one week before the new season premiere of our favorite reality-game show. I have to admit that when Jeff announced in the reunion show of Survivor: Cagayan that Season 29 would be another Blood Vs. Water season, my first thought was, “What???”, and second was, “Too early, they just did it last year.” But of course, that was just short-term disappointment. Now that Survivor: San Juan del Sur is just inch away, I am really excited and now I am writing my thoughts about it:

No Returning Players. Although I would like Spencer and Ciera to come back play the game again, I think it is fair for CBS to have brand new cast this time. It is only the fourth of the last ten seasons of Survivor featuring all-new players. What I love about the game having fresh faces is that everything is a surprise, we do not know them, we haven’t seen them play the game before. Also, they are really strangers to each other- except, of course, to their loved one.

Loved Ones Duel. I think this is much better twist than the original plan of sticking with the Redemption Island duel. Last BvW, we only saw 3 loved ones who competed against each other (Candice-John, Aras-Vytas, and, Tina-Katie). This time, we’ll get to see more of loved-ones trying to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other in a challenge.

Return of Exile Island. I love Exile Island! Exile Island is both an opportunity and a threat to whoever will be sent there. Clue to hidden immunity idol will only be found on Exile Island so I guess this season will be less of everyone-looking-for-idol-all-at-the-same-time and more of strategic connivance with your most trusted allies.

Guys! Follow this blog. You won’t regret it.

I just love the man behind it. ♥

‘Survivor’ editors go on strike, might delay premiere | EW.com

cultofcochran:

Sources say the Guild notified the Survivor producers that their editors wanted a union contract and requested that negotiations start immediately. When their letter did not receive a reply, the editors went on strike. As first reported by by Deadline, the roughly two dozen employees are primarily seeking health coverage and pension benefits.

The strike has the potential to delay the return of the series—this cycle is officially titled SurvivorSan Juan del Sur – Blood vs. Water—which is scheduled to launch Sept. 24. Last week, CBS announced Survivor‘s premiere would be extended to 90 minutes, a move that increases the workload for the show’s editors. The Survivor team shoots about 250 hours of footage to create one episode, host Jeff Probst said in a 2012 interview, and we’re told this fall’s premiere cut is due at the network next week.
